bio

Dustin grew up on a farm in eastern North Carolina. His grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles and cousins all lived on the same street. His grandma's house was the gathering place and if those walls could talk, you would hear the echoes of countless stories passed down by generations of family and friends. It was these nights listening to stories that ignited his passion for capturing the moment and eventually allowed him to do what he loves as a career.

Dustin attended Appalachian State University, earning a degree in Electronic Media and Broadcasting, with a focus on Audio Engineering. He worked with the university’s radio station and, after graduating in 2010, moved to Wilmington, NC, where he worked with Screen Gems and North Star Post and Sound. There, he worked with notable names like Lenny Kravitz and on projects such as The Hunger Games and One Tree Hill.

In 2012, Dustin joined Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s production studio, Hammerhead Entertainment, working with clients like ESPN, Fox, and major Fortune 500 companies. Over the years, he gained skills in shooting, editing, sound mixing, lighting, directing, and animating. This diverse experience led him to help start Dirty Mo Media in 2016, producing a wide range of media content for Dale Earnhardt Jr., Mike Davis and Jr. Motorsports.

In 2020, Dustin achieved his biggest accomplishment, serving as Associate Producer and Editor of Lost Speedways, a documentary series on NBC’s PeacockTV. As the series evolved, Dustin's innovative editing approach brought the show to life, focusing on storytelling that resonated beyond motorsports. His role expanded to include music supervision, sound design, and more.

For Dustin, storytelling is his life’s purpose, and he strives to inspire and enlighten others through his work.
